In their second pre-season friendly, APR FC shared the spoils with Gorilla FC in a thrilling 2-2 draw played on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Kirenga Stadium, the usual training ground for APR.
It was an entertaining clash with both teams showing intensity and determination. From the opening whistle, the match promised goals—and it delivered.
APR FC made an early statement when Mamadou Sy found the back of the net in the 3rd minute, finishing a fine assist from Memel Dao. The Mauritanian forward doubled the lead in the 16th minute with another well-taken goal, giving APR a solid start.
But Gorilla FC were far from out of it. They regrouped quickly and responded with two goals of their own, courtesy of Mosengo Tansele and Franck, leveling the game and keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
Among the standout players, Memel Dao once again impressed with his technical brilliance, while Djibril Ouattra and the double-scorer Mamadou Sy also put in strong performances.
This was APR FC’s second friendly, following their 4-1 win over Gasogi United. The team has more warm-up matches lined up, including a game against Mukura VS this Saturday, and a series of friendlies in Tanzania against Azam FC, FC, and Simba SC.
