The top volleyball teams in Africa are competing in CAVB Men Club Champioship 2025 in Misurata, Libya, and the teams representing Rwanda have made an impressive start in their opening matches.
In the first match held on Sunday, April 20, 2025, Rwanda’s military team, APR VC, defeated KPA from Kenya with a 3-2 set victory. It was a hard-fought match, but APR VC began strong, winning the first set 25-20, followed by a second set win at 25-18. Under the guidance of coach Sammy Molinge, the Rwandan players started to believe in victory. However, the Kenyan team came back, managing to equalize the sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-19.
The decisive set, known as the “Seoul” set, saw APR VC clinch the match with a 19-17 victory over KPA VC, thus securing the match with a 3-2 scoreline.
In another match, Kepler VC also started strong, defeating Rodrigues Orange from Mauritius 3-1. After losing the first set 16-25, Kepler VC quickly recovered, winning the next three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-22, and 25-17 to secure their victory.

In the upcoming matches, APR VC will face Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive on April 21, while Kepler VC will play against Port de Douala from Cameroon. Both matches will take place at the Swehly Club Hall.
To remind our readers, Kepler VC is in Group C, alongside Kenya Prisons (Kenya), Sporting Rodrigues Volley (Mauritius), Ittihad (Libya), Port de Douala (Cameroon), and Wolaita Sporting (Ethiopia).
Meanwhile, APR VC is in Group D, with teams such as Al Nassr Sporting (Libya), Litto Team (Cameroon), Club Emmanuel (DRC), Esperance Sportive (Tunisia), and Kenya Port Authority (Kenya).
